Cauldrons
Each cauldron is a vessel of memory and magick, born of earth, air, fire, and water. Their handles are bound with broom corn from our garden and foraged wood and bone as well as copper handles.
The Sankofa bird of Ghana representing the proverb
•It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten - So too do these cauldrons call back ancient wisdom and the importance of remembering.
The cauldrons are porous, they'll shift and change when touched by flame or water!

Painted With Fire
THESE CAULDRONS ARE SMOKE FIRED
THIS IS DONE IN A METAL CAN OR IN A PIT. I USE SAWDUST, WOOD, SALT, HAIR, OXIDES, HERBS, FLOWERS & MANURE. THE CAULDRONS ARE BURNISHED IN DIFFERENT STAGES TO MAKE A SOFT SURFACE. THEY FIRE FOR 10-12HRS.
WHEN FINISHED THE CAULDRONS ARE THEN POLISHED WITH PASTE WAX.
THERE IS NO GLAZE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAULDRONS THE COLOUR IS FROM THE FIRE AND ADDIVES.
THERE IS A GLAZE ON THE INSIDE OF THE CAULDRONS SO THEY CAN HAVE FIRE OR WATER INSIDE OF THEM.
BUT THEY ARE STILL POROUS AND WILL SHIFT AND CHANGE WITH FIRE AND WATER.
YOU COULD ALSO PUT A LAYER OF SAND AT THE BOTTOM TO KEEP YOUR CAULDRON PROTECTED.
