| I’ve
always found other eras more interesting then the one I grew up in. So hence the dresses. Since I couldn’t find the clothes that I wanted I decided to make them myself out of clay. I’ve always found from the 1920’s to the early 1950’s that the women were elegant and beautiful and curvy. They were very sexy without trying. But Also they could just be a broad and go to jazz clubs and speakeasies... The dresses and fabric that was used were phenomenal luxurious silks, velvets and lace. Women like Veronica Lake, Fay Wray, Marlene Dietrich, Jean Harlow, Carole Lombard and Rita Hayworth and to many more to mention. All women who were beautiful and well know then.

But
aren’t now a days so I wanted to bring back some of the class and beauty
from those times, so others can enjoy them as well. Also I find people enjoy wedding dresses as well. So I get pictures from people to copy there mothers' wedding dresses from long ago or even now a days for a very special gift for a bride. When I’m done sculpting them I Raku these dresses to give it a special finish. (Raku is explained in the technique section.) |
